This advanced fiction-writing workshop aims to inspire and encourage writers to create their best short and long-form fiction through weekly instruction, analysis and submissions. We explore all craft elements in depth, from audience and backstory to transitions and voice. Our critique method emphasizes exploration and discovery by analyzing each writer’s work to understand which elements achieve his or her purpose and which do not, and the “why” of both. Appropriate for writers of literary and genre fiction for publication and personal exploration, the workshop closely examines the art of revision, with an opportunity for each writer to submit up to fifteen pages to the other writers and the instructor once during the series, plus weekly page submissions. Writers can also share their goals and aspirations, and can contact the instructor with additional questions throughout the series.
Writing sample required for entrance to workshop. Max. 500 words.
