This is a craft-focused workshop geared to the advanced short story and novel writer. Workshop time is spent sharing and discussing participants’ material in a respectful and constructive atmosphere intended to elevate the caliber of the work. We will go deeply into the more challenging problems of fiction writing such as story structure, subplot, pacing, and “microediting”. It is appropriate for writers of adult literary fiction.
Manuscript Course: In addition to bringing in five pages per week to read aloud to the class for discussion, each student will have one opportunity to submit up to fifteen double-spaced pages to the instructor and class members. The group will read the work at home, write constructive comments on the pages, and provide feedback to the manuscript in class.
LIMITED TO 7 STUDENTS
