Douglas Moser has been a professional director and playwright for over 30 years. His adaptation of “A Christmas Carol” won the Connecticut Critics’ Circle Award for its performance at the Westport Country Playhouse. Early in his professional career Doug served as Artistic Director for the Boston Post Road Stage Company, once considered a leading producer of “off-Broadway” in Connecticut. Doug has worked with several playwrights, composers, and lyricists to refine their work. He developed Paula M. Kimper and Wende Person’s groundbreaking opera “Patience & Sarah” from its infancy, workshopping the libretto and score through performances at the American Opera Project all the way to its world premier at Lincoln Center. He also directed the professional debut of Frederick Stroppel’s one-act “Glacier Bay,” starring Jack Klugman and Brett Somers in their theatrical reunion. His film version, starring James Noble (“the Governor” from TVs Benson) and Dorothy Bryce won several awards on the film festival circuit. In addition to seeing memoir pieces and short stories published in literary journals, he is currently working on his novel, James & Jim, a comic thriller, and Pussy Boy, a YA coming-of-age fantasy.
