C. Flanagan Flynn
C. Flanagan Flynn, an award-winning writer and a 2018 finalist for the Frank McCourt Memoir Prize, has been nominated for the Pushcart Prize twice. Her writing has appeared in The New York Times, Memoir Magazine, Inkling Magazine, Brain Child, and Brain Teen. She’s an essay winner for Proximity Magazine’s upcoming Body Issue and her writing excellence also has been noted by The Southampton Review. She’s been featured in The Hartford Courant and was a panelist for Central Connecticut State University’s The Power of the Pen. She writes the column Literary Unleashed for The Storyteller's Cottage.
This spring, she's launching the magazine Centered and will lecture about writing and publishing at Bay Path University. She served as Contributing Editor and was promoted to Managing Editor of Brain Child: The Magazine for Thinking Mothers and Brain Teen: The Magazine for Thinking Parents. A former proofreader for Funk & Wagnalls Encyclopedias and Weekly Reader Magazine, she’s edited nonfiction and fiction books published by Macmillan, Penguin Random House, and New World Library, most recently bestselling novelist Matthew Dicks’ nonfiction book, Storyworthy. She’s a sought-after copywriter whose clients have included NBA players and global brands such as Coca-Cola and Seagram’s. She earned her M.A.L.S. from Wesleyan University and has studied writing at such institutions as Harvard University, Yale University, Mount Holyoke College, Trinity College, and literary hubs including Grub Street, Catapult, and The Mark Twain House. She’s performed her essays live at Infinity Hall and The Connecticut Historical Society.
