Chris Belden

Chris Belden 1

Chris Belden is the author of two novels, Shriver (2015) and Carry-on (2012). A film version of Shriver is under development with independent filmmaker Michael Maren through Big Fan Films. His story collection The Floating Lady of Lake Tawaba (2014) won the  Fairfield/New Rivers Book Prize (Dani Shapiro, judge). His essay "Inside Words: How to Teach Writing in Prison" won the 2013 Bechtel Prize from Teachers & Writers Collaborative (Susan Orlean, judge). He has an MFA from Fairfield University, and has taught writing at Fairfield U. as well as at such less traditional venues as senior centers, soup kitchens and a maximum security prison.
