The spaces where you enter and leave are among the most important components of a successful poem, and they are often the parts of a poem that can give us the most trouble. This workshop will explore what makes an engaging opening and a resonating close by examining strong examples of each. Participants should bring one or two poems of their own, which we will discuss in terms of where they begin, where they end, and how we might make them stronger.
