A successful scene develops story, character and narrative through numerous elements of craft.
We all tend to rely on certain elements of craft more than others. Some of us relish dialogue, while others avoid it at all costs. Some love creating external settings, while others feel most at home in a character’s head.
In this 3- hour workshop, we will work to layer craft elements such as dialogue, sensory details, internal thought, back story and setting, into existing scenes to create vibrant dynamic multi-dimensional scenes.
We will first share our existing scenes with the group and discuss which craft elements would benefit each piece. We will then write together in class to incorporate those elements. We will conclude by sharing the edited, multi-dimensional scene with the group!
All genres and skill levels welcome.
