Dear Westport Writers’ Workshop Community,
With an abundance of caution and consideration for our wonderful community, our staff and board have met and have decided to postpone the start of our Spring session to the week of April 13th. This postponement takes the Westport Schools’ spring break into consideration, which is the week of April 7th. With this new start time in place, we will have four more weeks to see how/if the coronavirus continues to spread and affect our schools and community activities.
Beginning April 13th, all of our classes will transition from meeting in-person to meeting remotely via video conference using Zoom. Writers who have already enrolled in a workshop will be contacted by their instructors with further information. We are hopeful that this extra time gives everyone a chance to become comfortable using Zoom. If you’re still thinking about signing up, we hope you will! We’ve been using Zoom here for our winter Saturday Seminars and all of our writers and instructors have given only positive reviews of their experiences. We will be here to help in any way we can! We will be switching some of our late March, early April Saturday Seminars to ZOOM as well. If you have already signed up for one of these workshops, we will be in touch with you early next week. Thank you for being patient with us as we navigate through these uncertain times.
Finally, our office is temporarily closed, and our staff members are working remotely for as long as necessary. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out by email. We feel this is the best way to continue to meet the needs of our wonderful community of writers. We will continue to provide update as information becomes available. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
