The Watch Club (Fall Edition)
with Alana Sanko
Enjoy streaming episodic series? Interested in exploring the mechanics of what makes a show truly spectacular or utterly disappointing? This is our take on your standard book club, but a tad more... dramatic. Join us for our Fall Watch Club, where we will meet once a month throughout the season for a story analysis discussion of three television series with an emphasis on the pilot episodes. We will take a structural deep dive into the episodes (and how they set up the series), analyze the scripts and discuss season one arcs. Note: we will be recording the sessions to view later if there is one you can't attend.
The 3 (recently Emmy nominated) series are:
- The Bear (Hulu) - September 28 from 7:00-8:30pm EST
- Beef (Netflix) - October 26 from 7:00-8:30pm EST
- Bad Sisters (Apple TV+) - November 9 from 7:00-8:30pm EST
Price: $75 (for the trio) or FREE to Dramatic Lab students taking a fall course
Ideal for: Writers interested in craft. Writers working on serialized pilots in these genres and formats. Anyone who loves these shows. Anyone looking for an excuse to watch and discuss these shows.
