|Who: We are happy to offer a free virtual creative writing workshop for essential workers in CT and NY in order to provide an outlet for creative expression for those who are supporting us most during the pandemic. Some examples of essential workers are medical, emergency and caregiving personnel, as well as grocery, delivery, food service and sanitation workers. If you feel you are an essential worker and are interested, please let us know. No previous writing experience is necessary. This workshop warmly welcomes writers of all levels of experience.
What: This free creative writing workshop will be facilitated by Jen Sage-Robison. An experienced facilitator certified in the gentle and encouraging Amherst Writers & Artists method, Jen will provide optional writing prompts. Participants can write anything they want in response—stories, poems, songs, grocery lists, memoirs, letters, rants. Participants are always encouraged to share what they’ve written but it is never required. We only share what is written in workshop; we don’t bring in previously written work. When time allows, positive, supportive feedback is given.
When: Beginning on Thursday June 25th , Essential Writing for Essential Workers will meet online for 6 Thursdays from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.: June 25th, July 2st, July 16th, July 23nd, July 30st, August 6th. Essential Writing for Essential Workers will meet on Zoom so you’ll need computer access to participate but you don’t need a Zoom account. If you’re interested, please contact Westport Writers Workshop at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Workshop size is limited.
